Welcome to the Barbara Bush MS BookLook wiki for 7th grade Language Arts students.
ATL Book Talk Project
You will create a book talk on a book you choose for DEAR time reading.
Requirements:
- Teams of 3-5 students will do a single booktalk. Students read different books.
- Teams decide on a single format for their booktalk: all audio with Audacity, audio/video with PhotoStory, or all video with MovieMaker. (See Samples on BroncoNET)
- Each person does his/her own 30sec-1min segment of the booktalk. The segments are then combined into a single Team booktalk, max time for all together = 5min.
Steps:
- First select books for your book talk. You must read the books.
- Create a Collaboration Team; create a name for your team. Add your Team name to Class Period page; then, create a Team Page.
- Use your Team Page on to write the narration for each booktalk. Include:
- Title
- Author
- Brief summary of plot & main characters
- What you found interesting or what you found wrong with the book
- Your recommendation about whether to read the book
- For PhotoStory, use the Storyboard Template to plan the story. Select pictures or photos that portray the story’s elements or characters. Save pictures & storyboard to your Team page on BookLooki. Give credit for pictures on a credits page (required).
- For MovieMaker, use the Storyboard Template to plan the video shots you will take. (They must be done in the library.) You can use pictures or photos or the draw feature of MS Word. Save pictures & the storyboard to your Team page on BookLooki.
